WOOD LIFECYCLE
Our teak follows a long, deliberate journey — from young seedlings in Ecuadorian soil to finished lumber loaded on container ships bound for international ports.
Teak seedlings are planted in carefully selected Ecuadorian plots with the soil, rainfall and sunlight conditions teak requires to develop dense, valuable heartwood. Over more than a decade, the trees are monitored, pruned and thinned, ensuring consistency.
Mature trees are selectively harvested, identified and traced. Logs are measured, registered and moved to processing facilities under legal-origin documentation.
Logs are sawn into boards according to buyer specifications: thickness, width, length and bundle configuration are defined per order.
Lumber is dried to target moisture content and treated as required for the destination market — phytosanitary, fumigation or kiln-drying as agreed.
Each bundle is inspected, measured and packed for handling. A detailed packing list and shipment photos are produced before container loading.
Containers are loaded at the Pacific port, dispatched under the agreed Incoterm, and full shipment documentation is delivered to the buyer.
QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION
International timber trade requires more than product availability. Buyers need clear dimensions, volume calculation, packing, documentation and shipment coordination. ECUTIMBER structures each order with these requirements in mind.
COMPLIANCE
ECUTIMBER does not make unsupported certification claims. FSC, chain-of-custody, Lacey Act, EUDR and other requirements must be reviewed according to confirmed supply chain, buyer requirements and destination-market rules.
For markets such as the United States and the European Union, timber imports may require additional due diligence, legal-origin verification, traceability and market-specific compliance. ECUTIMBER evaluates these requirements per transaction and destination.
